The importance of good vision is well recognised. Hearing is equally important and one of the most vital senses for learning.

To read, write, speak and achieve academically, a child must be able to hear.

Hearing loss happens in children too (not only older people), and is impactful to their learning. In the classroom, teaching efforts relies on a child's listening skills, it is important to ensure their hearing is optimal.

 A child with hearing loss will never present with a "hearing" loss.

They'll present with a language, learning or behavioural issue such as:

 

• Speech or Language delay

• Selective Hearing

• Phonics, Articulation, Spelling, Reading or Writing difficulty

• Inattention or Focus

• Behaviour Issues

• Needing the TV or ipad volume loud

• Or nothing at all. Hearing loss is invisible
